Satish’s Plans: Modern Roads, Smarter Signals, Connected Morrisville

  • Prioritize Advocacy for Morrisville: Work with the NC Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and be a better advocate for the town than the region in the fight for transit and rapid bus transportation
  • Modernize Traffic Infrastructure: Improve traffic lights, intersections, and turn lanes to improve traffic flow and alleviate congestion
  • Strengthen Communication During Interruptions: Communicate potential road closures to town residents further in advance 
  • Advance Transit Solutions: Connect Morrisville businesses and residents to the Triangle area
  • Road Expansions and Infrastructure Upgrades: Aviation Parkway Expansion, McCrimmon – Church Street Corridor

PUBLIC SAFETY

Our Successes: Getting to You Faster in an Emergency

  • Upgraded EMS equipment to improve communication and public safety
  • New fire trucks, fire stations, police cars, and public works vehicles
  • Enhanced service levels due to Cary Apex Morrisville (CAM) Model collaboration that allows neighboring fire departments to work together for faster responses
  • Improved 911 dispatch times delivering superior and speedier responses to residents

  • Global economic downturn will have unpredictable trickle down effects at the local level. We must be prepared.
  • Lack of road infrastructure and congestion can slow response times for first responders

  • Enhance Public Safety with Rapid Response Times: Enhanced patrolling and communications for quicker response times and improve victim engagement during home burglary and other crimes
  • Maintain Excellence in Fire Safety: Maintain our fire safety rating (ISO 9001), lowering residential and commercial insurance rates
  • Protect Our Children and Pedestrian: Prioritize pedestrian safety near schools and residential areas to guarantee the safety of our residents 
  • Expand Emergency Services Coverage: New fire station near Wake Tech to provide better coverage and increase first responder staffing to enhance response times and service quality
  • Safer Sidewalks: Improve and install sidewalks at Church Street, Aviation Parkway, and Louis Stephens Road

PARKS AND RECREATION

Our Successes: Our Green Spaces Create Community

  • First-class parks and amenities 
  • Expanded approximately 60 acres of park land
  • Greenways featuring 8-feet-wide walkways, allowing for plenty of room for bikers, joggers, and walkers with strollers
  • Received global recognition from our state-of-the-art Church Street Park and cricket facility that have hosted international tournaments

Morrisville’s Obstacles

  • Limited recreational programming for all ages, such as teens and young adults
  • Lack of competitive travel sports for youth

  • More Parks, Better Parks: Invest in new and improved parks, fulfilling the vision of Town Green, Church Street and Marcom Park
  • Focus on Morrisville Seniors: Address facility needs and programming to enhance seniors’ quality of life

  • Launch the Morrisville Open: A friendly tournament that brings together diverse communities and spans various sports
  • Make Morrisville a Sports Leader: Generate economic development via Morrisville’s world-class sports facilities and public-private partnerships
